Hi all. I'm interested in possibly running a manifold to feed some equipment (separate from my return), but have a few questions and would love someone to sanity check what I'm doing.

Here's what I want to run:
1. 1/5 HP Chiller
2. Algae Scrubber
3. 40 watt UV
4. Carbon/Media reactor (from BRS, this might not be used)

Current Plan:

Reef Octopus VarioS-4 accessory pump

Outlet 1: Algae Scrubber -> Chiller (inline, 500gph)
Outlet 2: UV -> Media Reactor (inline, 250gph)

Gate valves to control the two outlets

I'll measure the flow using timer + measuring cup method. UV is slow because I want to kill the uv sensitive dinoflagellates that have plagued my system. It seems like they slowly creep back if I stop running UV.

The only thing you may want to do is run the UV separately so you can fine-tune the flow (which may not work well for anything else attached to it, ie: reactor, etc.)

That's true. I don't know exactly what flow I need yet for the UV. On Aqua UV's specifications, it says 900 GPH+, but I know that for combating dinoflagellates, I need to run the water much much slower. I have a 15watt UV now on my small tank that I'm pushing barely a trickle through, and that's working well.
