so this tank is about 8 months old it has been used as a hospital tank bare bottom collected frags for a while and decided to add rock and sand 4 months ago I put dry rock in kept it BB noticed algae growth but phosphates nitrites and nitrates were all miniscule if not zero in the tank within the past 3 months this algae has gone out of control I use a turkey baster sucking it up and putting into a bucket but it grows back I have cut down my lights to 4 hours every other day while they are off in between days. I had no fish in there and I only spot said my Alan once a week. calcium last time I checked was at 500 ish magnesium was around 1600 and alkalinity was at 10its been killing me the past 3 months trying to figure out what it is if it is in red slime algae (cyano) any tips or tricks on getting rid of it I recently added stand after scraping the bottom I think I'm going to siphon it out actually enjoy the bare bottom look much better
