Hey everyone,

I got home this afternoon and saw these big brown splotches on my yellow clown goby. During feeding he ate just fine and everything seems fine with his personality as well. What is causing these spots? What do I need to do?

Thanks!

Do you have pics? That would help a lot. How long have you had the fish? Do you have corals? What kinds?

Yeah I know pics would help, but cannot get one right now, but will continue to try.

I have had the fish basically the whole time the tank has been up (roughly 8 months)

I have a couple of hammers, torch, candy cane, digitata, scroll, green slimer, toadstool, and some zoas/palys

yeah, he has always hung near one of the hammers, but i have never seen the spots before. I did get the torch 2 weeks ago or so. Maybe he came close to it for the first time. Thanks, I hope that is it and not some disease!

Clown fish that host LPS corals like hammers and torches are known for getting spots from reptative stings. Maybe other fish can get this as well? Look closely at the spots and make sure there is no fuzziness to them. With his behavior and eating, I would guess that any disease progressed far enough to show spots would have already rendered his appetite and caused other signs of stress.

This is the best that i could do and for some reason they keep loading upside down, even though they are correct on my computer.
