Help please Encrusting Montipora is bleaching on the edges

Heya folks could use some help here please. My Monti had been starting to bleach on the edges over the past few weeks.

This is in my nano tank right now but was thinking of moving it to my 60 cube.

My parameters are:

I've only had the frag for about 4 weeks and it was always a bit bleached on the edges but it seemed to have bleached about another mm or 2 in the past couple weeks. I had it on the sand bed since I got it and am using the current USA orbit for a light in the tank. I know these need a good amount of par could this be from not having enough light I just don't want to shock it by moving it up I had given it a bath in ReVive tonight to blow off any possible decay.

I would do a water change. When I was first starting with SPS, my montis would sometimes get that speckled white look. I did a 50% water change and they would be back to growing 2 days later. I haven't had a problem for a while, so it might have just been new tank instability.

thanks I did slack on my water changes over the holiday I did a 50% today I will also try and change the filter floss in the back chamber every other day rather then once a week to polish the water a bit more and see if that helps.

Hmm, new growth will usually be pale on the edges, but from the looks of that, it's probably a health issue ... from the looks of the rock, it may be related to nitrates or the age of your tank. With 20ppm nitrates, you will want to do a water change now. Unfortunately, there isn't a whole lot more you can do. Dipping it isn't the best action when it's already faring poorly, that just makes things worse. Perhaps just leave it alone where it is, don't put your hands in the tank and try to tweak things. Just keep up with your weekly 10-25% water changes (don't do more than that ... significant water changes can be shocking to coral) and hope for the best.
