To be honest I do not know which one of the zoanthids you mean. I cannot see an ugly brown/purple one. On the first image I see a blue/green one on top and a pale one below. I guess the ugly one is not on the first image. If I don´t know exactly which one you are talking about I can't estimate how difficult and possibly dangerous it is to remove it. I agree to be very careful with zoanthids, especially of the genus Palythoa including Protopalythoa.

Don't buy the mint green ones lol they will grow like weeds as well. Seen people eyes swell shut and puss etc from removing them but had no protection and was dumping thousands. I pull them with tweezers in the water so not to allow toxin to become airborne. Or take it outside and pull em. Did it yesterday...

Once it's in the tank chances are it will never leave.... Oh and I've baked pallys and gsp outside for months for them to grow right back once back in the tank.
