i love what ur saying but as i said i cant place them on both sides only one side does matter...I had 2 on my 165 and it allowed me to have strong flow at both ends of the tank. There is also some nice flow patterns you can get with two by settting up the pumps in either sync or anti-sync mode. You could do either its just my opinion from what I had and liked.
thanks for the reply and hlp but does it matter if i place them only on one sideI vote for two mp40 , more flow options, chaotic flow, etc...

thank u very much so u thnk i should place one 60 much better what do u think i place one 60 and one 40 on one side what do u thnk???/if they are both on one you can still get some of the benefits of the 2. But with it only on one side I would then do the 60 and save a little money.
i have an island...Disadvantage to one 60 is that you won't be able to have a lot of corals anywhere near the 60 cause the flow would be to strong. You can always turn the flow down but then why have a 60 if you do that. So it also depends on your rock placement and pump placement. I have 3 mp40 and if on full blast I can't put any corals at least about 8 inches away. I'm sure the mp60 would be more. If that is the only flow your gonna have I would defiantly lean toward 2 mp40 on the same side of the tank. As mentioned more flow combinations, less chance of dead spots in your big tank. And better action when you put the pumps in waiste mode.
dont ask about my flow cause it sucks nothing known and its sps and lps and mushrooms and zoa polypsQuestion what kinda tank do you have ? Mixed reef SPS? What are you using for flow now?
