Help Please!!! Suitable Marine plastics food grade virgin polymer??????

Hi Guys I am in the process of setting up a small aquatics department at my workplace and I have every bit of equipment sorted apart from pre-stored water that's either pre mixed or pre heated or both and trying to find 250L-350L water butts/vats with suited plastics for marine water storage. One company have got back in touch with large tubs but they say they are food grade virgin polymer and does not have a plastic grading and from what I have read that plastic stamped with the triangle symbol with a number 1-4 inside are fine for marines anything above are risky?? any help guys would be great and much appreciated!

Certainly 1, 2 and 4 are good to go as water storage containers….all based on polyethylene. Recycle #3 (vinyl) could be a crap shoot if it contains plasticizers…some of these can leach out.

Common water storage contains here in the States are recycled food barrels (typically 55 and 30 gallons), Rubbermaid stock tanks, and Brute garbage cans
