What are you asking about?
Are you referring to the white discoloration on the Tomini tang? If so, it looks like HLLE or Head and Lateral Line Erosion. This is usually caused by nutrient deficiency from what I've read and may or may not be reversible.

Looks like a bad case of head & lateral line disease. Is it on both sides? How long have you had the tang?

HLLE -- suspected to be caused by poor water conditions, stress, and poor nutrition. Also, there is some argument that carbon dust from carbon used in the tanks can also cause this in tangs. Increasing water changes to help with improved water conditions can help over time. Also, a good diet will also help.

I had a tomini tang with this on their face only during their quarantine and prophylactic treatments. Once I moved the fish out of the stressful quarantine process and put him into the main tank with improved water conditions and regular healthy foods, it all disappeared. I have heard that some of the defects can scar, though.

Its head and face erosion and lateral line accelarated, likely due to carbon effect ( pull carbon and vitamin deficiency). The lateral line of a fish is porous and highly sensitive to changes in water chemistry and can even sense low electrical currents causing such issues. Bacterial issues are also a reason, pointing to water quality.
You also have a bit of Green Hair algae in excess .
For the Tang, assure good water quality focusing on: Ammonia-ph-nitrate-Phosphate (for algae) and dissolved oxygen
For diet, feed at minimum:
-Spirulina brine shrimp
- LRS Herbivore diet
- mysis shrimp
- small plankton
- Nori seaweed basted with garlic extract
- Hikari Marine cuisine
- Formula 2 flake and frozen
- Hikari veggie marine

Add selcon vitamins to the foods 2-3X per week and on alternating days, garlic extract for stamina and immunity health

Tank has been only running for 5 months i read this is the "ugly stage" idk 1st saltwater aquarium. I added gfo and purgen for excess nutrients. And I do a 15\20gal wc every week. So do I pull gfo and purgen and carbon? More wc volume or frequency?

This is not nutrient related on the HLLE ( for GHA, yes)
GFO is strong. Assure its not stripping tank of nutrients.
What is your Ammonia-ph-nitrate-Phosphate-salinity levels and WHAT TEST KIT(s) ARE YOU USING ?

FOR THE ALGAE, PULL AS MUCH AS YOU CAN BY HAND AND ADD SNAILS SUCH AS : ASTREA, CERITH, TURBO GRAZER AND NASSARIUS
