Hi, Im not sure what to do here....
Over 6 months ago I was using dosers for alk and ca.
I decided to change to a calcium reactor.
The problem is:
For me to keep ALK between 8/8.5 my calcium goes up to 500+
Right now is around 525 to 550 checking with elos and redsea pro test kit.
Is calcium 500+ to high to harm any corals?
If I lower it my alk will drop it bellow 8
What can I do?
Leave it alone?
Thanks.

Lower your alk to 7.5 or 8 and wait for ca to come down nothing to worry about

7.5 I think is too risky.... If something happens and drop bellow 7, I dont think it will b good.
Me dropping to 7.5 will not make much of a difference either. The only way I can think is lowering the alk on the calcium reactor and go back to dose alk only.
For me to lower the calcium to 450, my alk will have to be around 6 or 6.5.
That means I will have to go Back to a doser.(ALK only)

Alk of 7.5 is within acceptable range I've ran my mixed reef at lower than that with no issues.Nsw is around 7dkh I believe. More important than the actual number is stability. Don't make any quick changes. Actually I've had much better success with alk in the lower range.

Good to know! Thank you
