I have a 37g bio cube i just put an anemone in yesterday and i woke up last night to find him sucked onto my filter tube, my filter is an aqua clear 50, I took him off and ever seen then he has been upside down on my tank i picked him right side up and then he just "yeets" himself off the rock an hour later floating around the tank aimlessly and then sits and the bottom of the tank upside down.
HELP! Please

How did you know it was dead? You have had your tank set up for less than 3 weeks and have already put 4 Clownfish and a nem in there before your tank has even cycled.

Your going way too fast, nothing can be rushed in this hobby !! Nems need a 6+ month old tank
I would focus on finding homes for the 2 clowns and did you complete your cycle ?
If the foot wasn’t damaged it could have been saved. You said it was white but had dark tentacles.

Slow down, its hard to do that on your first tank. If you don’t you are going to run into tons of problems. If your tank was not set up with live rock out of an established tank you probably have not finished you cycle. BTA’s really need a tank that is at least a few months old. Also if the cycle is not finished you shouldn’t have fish in there yet.

Everybody here is trying to help you so don’t be so quick to dismiss them . Sure , newly introduced critters will look fine for a couple days but most end up dying during the cycle . Good Luck with build .

Just saw your other post, 1.0 ppm ammonia is terrible for anything living in the tank. You should test 0 ammonia and 0 nitrite. Take the fish back to the store, get your money back, and search for a new LFS while your tank actually cycles.

When I first started I had a 14g biocube ; stocked live rock, 2 clowns , candy cane coral and a LTA within one week. Needless to say everything died in two weeks. There’s a lot of products that “speed” up cycles and what not but trust us when we tell you that stocking during cycle is a bad plan.

One thing I wills say is that the whole 6+mo rule of thumb for nems is trash. IF your tank is set up and maintained properly then you can keep what you want. Just, as others have said, take your time and try not to rush. It is exciting to get in to but the results take time. Get your parameters stable and start freshs. I advise watching Bulk Reef Supply videos on youtube to help build a solid foundation.

In my own opinion, the 6-12 month rule doesn’t necessarily come from how your water quality will be but for me it will take that long for a new reefkeeper to become knowledgeable enough to be comfortable with understanding his/her tank and being able to keep it stable and recognise problems. This is quite obvious from the myriad posts almost every single day of new keepers having problems with nems and not understanding the care they require.
I placed a RBTA in my new tank after 2 months but have kept Anemones for years and I know what it takes to keep them healthy. I certainly wouldn’t condone this for somebody new to the hobby though. They are animals the same as any other and deserve the best we can do for them.
