Help please

I have had my tank going for about a year and half and now I have this brown stuff covering it. It goes away at night comes back during the day yet does not snot up like dinos as I have tried to look at post all over about this. Please help and don’t mind the dead snail in the pic I have had a chance to pull him out
Nitrates 2 ppm
P04 .02 both on red sea kit
Please help

Could be diatoms... have you confirmed its not dino? Are you using a RODI system?

I am not sure what it is. I wasn’t sure about dinos because of the lack of snot. Yes I used only rodi water my salt is Red Sea blue bucket

Not every dinos result in snot, going away at lights out and reappearing makes me think you may have dinos..

It looks a little like dinos to me. It could also be why your snail died. Try the coffee filter test to know for sure.

So the coffee filter test left a brown stringy substance so dinos confirmed

Goes away and comes back is behavior of DINO.
Turn off all white lights and reduce blues to 10% and at night. . . . Add 1ml of hydrogen peroxide per 10 gallons to tank for 5 days and same measurement of liquid bacteria during the day. Will vanish within those 5 days.

I beat a super bad case in 6 days. Be sure to loosen with turket baster daily and net loose matter or siphon it. Do not add coral foods or Nopox to tank. You WILL win this war
