Hello! I currently have a powder blue tang in a 20g Long QT. I bought him from petco and for the first 3 days he looked great, beautiful color and everything. I then noticed slight twitching and scratching against the pvc in the tank. With that being said i decided to start treatment with Ruby Reef Rally Pro and Kick-Ice combo. Within 10 minutes of dosing the Rally Pro i could noticed these blotches showing up on his sides and face. He wasn't looking good and i wanted to get him some immediate relief. I decided to do my first ever fresh water dip. I dipped him for about 4 minutes, and though he was struggling i could see ALOT of white things falling off of him. After the fresh water dip, I decided to start using Prazipro for the Flukes ( the next day to let him relax a little ). I did 100% water change during the freshwater dip. Here we are now, day 2 of Prazipro and im seeing what appears to be Fin Rot. My question is do I let Prazipro run its course for the next 5 days and monitor the fin rot or do i do 100% water change and start treating with Kanaplex? I've been reading and have heard mixing these meds is a no go so what do i do here? Im just trying to help this poor fish. This is my first go around with medicating fish and fresh water dips so any advice is appreciated. i currently have a 210g tank being cycled and a 32g bio cube with a pair of clowns, watchman goby, mandarin dragonette, 6-line wrasse, cleaner shrimp, corals and nems but never quarantined for my bio cube and have been lucky. im trying to do things right for my 210g tank.

I’ve been there and it’s rough. So I wish you the best luck!

from my experience, rally pro and kick ick never worked for me... not just once but twice cost me a ton of money oof! Anyhow I prefer to use copper now after that mess. I’m no expert but if you’re hearing that you shouldn’t mix I wouldn’t try it I’d let the medications run their course I wouldn’t try to switch because if you try to switch between meds (even after a 100% water change), the fish will have some of that stuff I’d think in its system so it would, in theory, still mix. Just my 2 ¢

WELCOME! So sorry to hear about your troubled tang. I personally and thankfully have not had to deal with fish disease and am no expert. Others here are and I'm sure you are moments away from help.

I suggest posting up your query here as well...
