So i was just watching my emerald crab much on some algae and i noticed these little mite looking things on him. Then i looked on the yellow acro he was hanging on to and saw the little mites on it also. They were bright red and pretty much looked like spider mites. It seems that after the emerald crab moved away so did the mites. Any idea?

How's the PE on that coral. First thing I noticed was loss of polyp extension with red bugs. If it is indeed red bugs don't hessitate to treat with interceptor, it works great.

I don't think it's red bugs. Did some research and others have said the same thing. Little red bugs moving quickly around on the crab, or all their crabs, or even seeing them on the emerald at their lfs too. The coral is already completely free of them so they obviously followed the crab. No one seems to know what they are. The crab doesn't seem to notice at all.

Interesting... would love to see a macro shot of them.

Yea, not happening. Lol. Maybe if my camera didn't get jacked. Either way my camera skills aren't very good.

Seriously think spider mites. They looked exactly like them. Exactly.

Pretty sure i just jumped the gun on this. Everything seems fine now. Bugs are only on the crab.
