I'd rather spend more money and purchase a quiet one! I'll check it out

yes the Honda is very quiet i use mine for everything from camping to surviving hurricane season and it doesn't weigh much more than my wife purse  they also make larger sizes in the EU series just figure out what all you want to power. you can also link two of the 1000's together if needed

I have the Predator 8750 Peak/7000 13hp from Harbor Freight. My brother works there so he gave me the heads up earlier this year when there was a really good sale price, plus his discount. Of course the power hasn't gone out again since I bought it, but I run it once a month for a few minutes. Added fuel stabilizer too in case I forget to run it monthly. Should be more than enough to keep the pumps running on my tanks and whatever else I want to plug in there.

I have a Generac 14KW whole house generator that is hooked up to a natural gas line. It works great and will start running within 10 seconds of a power failure. It is set up to run my 15 year old mixed reef tank that is now in the basement and it will run my new 150 gallon tank that I am in the process of setting up. It is great insurance to keep most of the important house systems running. Plus I don't have to worry about power outages caused by electrical storm and Ice storms here in the Atlanta area.
