Hi everyone,

I have a problem with some lps, haven´t found no one could tell me whats happening.

I maintain sps, lps and soft. The problem is with some lps, acanthastrea, lobophylia and now with a favites.

After around 2-3 weeks i introduce the coral on my aquarium they lose color, going into a more white color.

Also the textures change. To have a rough texture change to a very thin cap almost transparent. Other thing is not normal, is that they usually have pe during all day.

They have good grow, for example acanthastrea grow 5 new polyps in 2 monthts. I usually feed them 1-2 times a week with artemia.

My aquarium:
200 liter (53 gallons) with 9 months old.
Illumitation: Maxspect Razor 130w
Skimmer: Reef Octopus 110s
Movement: 2 bombs sw4 Jebao

Salinity: 1.025
Temp: 25.5ºC
Kh: 7.5 dkh (Constant with dosification)
Calcium: 435 (Constant with dosification)
Magnesium: 1400
Nitrate: <5
Phosfate: 0.025 (Test nyos)

Aditives:
I add phitoplancton, iodo, vitamins and aminoacids.
Water changes 10 liter weekly
Salt NeoMarine Brightwell
I use osmosis water.

I add some photos from before and after. Sorry if my written english is bad.

Than you in advance.

What is your lighting compared to the lighting they were under in the LFS? Sounds like they are bleaching out. Did you acclimate them to your lighting??

Yup sounds like over illumination.

I agree with above. What percentage is your light set to?

Thanks for the answers. This happen to me since i start the aquarium 9 months ago is not a puntual thing of water.

I have try multiple positions of high and different positions for more or less movement.

Also try almost maximum power of light and less power. Actually i have 6 hours of White channel: 50% and Blue Channel:80% plus the ramp of dawn and sunset.

Rest of corals have good coloration and growing. Acroporas are growing and good color. And other lps like caulastrea, euphyllia and alveopora are good too.

Also try feed them all the days or not feeding them at all.

Could be the quality of light??

All of them came from other led lights. I always acclimate them. Actually have them on the sand and try medium position aswell when they already lost color.

Pale colors and good growth could be low nitrate/nitrogen compounds. Do you have an exact result of just <5 ppm?

Yes, always 5 or a bit less. Phospates with nyos test 0.025, chaeto has constant grow.

As most of people told me they can be burst by the lights. I have located this lps on the sides almost in the shadow. And decrease by 5% white and blue channels in a 6 hour period. Actually Maxspect Razor 130w running:

WHITE BLUE
8:00 0% 1%
9:00 30% 45%
12:00 40% 70%
18:00 35% 60%
20:00 20% 55%
22:00 0% 1%

What kind of flow is it in. LPS do need a good random flow to properly respirate

I have 2 jebao sw4 bomb. Each bomb 4.000 liters hour working both at 80%. More than enough flow for lps, i have predominance of sps.
