HELP!! Purigen leaked out in my tank!!

So somehow my mesh bag ended up dumping about a third of it's contents (Purigen) into my 180 reef. It's floating everywhere. How bad is this? Will it hurt anything or just be annoying till it settles down?

It will not hurt a single thing. This is stuff that you let your water run through 30 times an hour. Just because it isn't in it's mesh bag doesn't make it dangerous. If you can vacuum it out during a normal water change then by all means, otherwise just let it be.

ya it is harmless. you could also try catching it out of your tank with a new. i had some kent phosphate sponge end up flowing through my tank thats how i got it all out

I think I still have some tiny chunks of carbon in my sump from a bag opening. I freaked out too.
