When raising water level in my tank do i just add more saltwater to the tank. I have just topped with ro/di water and i want to raise my level 1/2 inch.

Do you have a overflow and sump? If so you probably won’t be able to change the water level in your tank by much unless you have a HOB overflow.

Then you fill to what level you want with saltwater and keep it there with RO/DI makeup water.

If you wonder if you should use salt or fresh, depends on tank size. I would add salt that matches whatever your tank reads now. If you add fr3sh it will dilute, and if you add too much salt it will concentrate. Add more of same and should be good!

If I understand your question correctly, u trying to increase the water level in your tank. If you have a hob overflow that needs to be reset to increase water level, you could do so. If u have drilled tank, u might not be able to increase past the set drill. In either case to top your water, you should check your tank parameters, I usually just check the salinity level, and then make your new water to set your salinity level to the norm and then top off with new ro/di until u reach the limit u want. I hope that answers your question.
