So I have a couple of zoas in my 13.5gal EVO and they are placed around halfway up the tank or maybe slightly higher. I noticed that my rasta zoa has like partially brown tips and I was just wondering if this is normal or is a sign of something to worry about. I’m just wondering because on google they are usually entirely green.

My parameters are:
78F
5ppm Nitrate
Between 0-0.25 ammonia
Slightly above 0 for phosphate
0 Nitrite
8dkh for Alk

also I am running the LED light that came with the EVO.

Here are pictures of my rastas and my zoa area:

I would up your nitrates a bit-they like more in the water. 5-10ish is good for them. This looks like a new tank so I would dose nitrates and if your phos is darn close to zero, dose them too.
Looks good though for the most part. That green on the rock will eventually get coralline and turn a brownish green.

Alright thanks I’ll try that. The tank has been running for about 2 months now with no major problems that have happened so far. Do you know how long it’ll take for coralline to form? because I haven’t seen any sign of it so far other then the coralline I got from buying coral frags.

Spectrum. I dont know what light comes with that system and other can chime in about it. But by the looks of your rocks you might be running to much white light.

They look good, could just have slightly changed in response to the lights not a big deal they look healthy and happy and they still have retained 90% of their color ! They could change back or not I would give it time in the location and move them to a less intense area if discoloration continues... your nutrients are fine ive kept them in less than 5ppm nitrate just fine and have kept them in higher nitrates just make sure your parameters are consistent that’s the key!

Don’t worry too much about the green on your rocks-that will go away eventually. Coralline for my dry start system was 8 months till I noticed it on the rocks. I introduced at ~5 months or so.
