Looks like zero, api sometimes gives a false positive showing 0.25 when actually zero. Sometimes shaking bottle #2 helps sometimes it doesn't. Looks like you are good to go though.

Thanks I thought the first one was too high so did a 50% water change and got that second result any recommendations on good ammonia test kits

There are a few more accurate brands but in all honesty they aren't needed. As long as you are actively processing ammonia and you are getting consistent "zeros" on the API you should be good to go.

You think he looks fine looks like he’s breathing heavily and thanks for all the help

He does but he seams to be in quite a bit of flow. In any case let's get some more info.

How old is the tank?
Bacteria added or fish in cycle?
Live rock or dry rock?
Live sand or dry sand?

Other parameters? Temp Salinity ect?

Tanks 2 months old bacteria was added in cycle no fish and went through its cycle used live rock and sand with one nano hydro power head and nano slim skim protein skimmer Aqueon filter temps at 78F salinity 1.023 ph 8.2 nitrite 0ppm nitrate 0ppm have one perc clown one peppermint shrimp 1 emerald crab 1 turbo snail 3 mushroom coral heads

Everything sounds normal enough besides the Salinity being a tad low. Is this behavior new? Does the clown do it all the time? Do you notice anything out of the ordinary like fraid fins, white poop or flared red gills?
