Hello fellow reefers. I am having a bedbug issue right now and just was notching some discoloration on my corals. I was wondering if there was anything I could put into my tank. I know interceptor has been used in the past. But I have heard they changed the formula on that and it does not work anymore. Anyone know of anything else?

Thanks!!

I ordered the interceptor chews from Australia (Google search it) and it worked the same as the old interceptor using same dosage. I think some people over on RC have used another similar product and have had good results as well but I don't have a link over there and you might want to search those forums as well. Good luck with this pest!

I just did Sentinel (which is the replacement for Interceptor) and completely eliminated red bugs.. it works just fine.

Order Interceptor Spectrum from joespetmeds.com. Purchase the large dog size. The site is legit and this is where I get mine to kill redbugs.

Interceptor works for sure and you can even do it in a one treatment dose if you set up a tank with heater powerhead and you can use water from a water change. I did this and with in two hours 90 percent were dead. Also I have heard people using All Out but be careful it is strong and if you dose heavy on the dip or over expose the corals, it will be detrimental to the corals.

Redbugs are easy to get rid of. Just save yourself a piece of live rock from your display before treating, because after the treatment all of your pods will be dead and you'll need to replenish them.

I've had the unfortunate pleasure of having to treat on two different occasions. Pods were not affected on either one. Shrimp and crabs/hermits are toast though and should be rehoused during treatment.

I would not do this for the chance of free floating red bugs being on the rock, slim chance but still not worth it. Plus i have never had ALL my pods die. In fact i have noticed they come back in larger numbers in due time. Maybe with a very small tank and low pod numbers or with a newer tank this could be an issue but i have never seen all the pods eliminated. I have even had shrimp live. Just my experiences though.

Another +1 for interceptor. Had to do it on my tank, I did 3 treatments. Didn't lose any snails, hermits or shrimp. Redbugs were gone after 1st dose but I wanted to be sure. I was SOOOOO nervous but it was the easiest full tank treatment I've ever done and I would do it again in a heartbeat if I had to. I don't plan to get the bugs again though lol. I seeded my tank with tigger pods a few weeks after.

On a side note I've noticed that Revive doesn't really effect redbugs. I'm thinking that is how they got thru my QT procedures.

You should do 2 or better 3 treatments. I can confirm that interceptor spectrum works, as I have used it on 2 occasions without issues. Sentinel is the other option. I got mine from a Canadian site, LOL!
