So i got a red sea test kit and when you suck up the liquid through the syringe theirs a gap of air between the syringe and were the liquid its self is in the syringe! Were do i read the results at? were the line of liquid is left or where the end of the part you push down is at?

Draw the liquid to 10ml and then do your math from there. I believe it also says that in the instructions.

You draw 1ml. of reagent into syringe and you will have a gap which is compensating for fluid in tip. Once you reach desired color read the amount added not the final position of the plunger.

The directions explain this. Either method works. Red Sea tells you to youse the plunger for measurement point. As the air gap is for the volume in the tip. Which will be air. If doing a test which requires more than on syringe filling with the liquid to the line may introduce error in the volume in the tip. E.g. Alk test on effluent line of a reactor.
