Help! Reef Tank Infested with swimming tiny dots.

Hey guys! I've noticed a spike in these white dots swimming around. It's too much for my nano to handle & I'm not even sure if those are copepods. It's so small and uniform in size. Also it only stays on the glass when i turn off the pump so I guess it gets blown about easily. Can anyone identify what it is? I'm going to do a water change to try reduce their numbers first. Thanks for the help

They're pods. There's usually a bloom like that. The numbers will even out and you won't have as many.

Hard to tell from your video but they're likely pods. If they are more rectangular in shape and dart about from a vertical position then they are hermit crab larvae (experienced this first hand last week).

In any case, the fish will make a feast out of them.

Copepods. You surely knew this.

NOt sure about the thingies in your tank but agree they are some kind of planktonic creature that the fish and coral might devore.

It's been two weeks now and I they are gone now (back into the sand). Probably cause by my tanks nitrate and phosphate spike. Algae starting blooming as well.

It has reduced now. My clown wasn't eating them and didn't want to swim to the center when they're around haha

Would love too! Just that my tank has reached the capacity. It's just 7 gallons :') Oh and my clown doesn't eat them.

Interesting to know that they may be hermit crab larvae! Anyways it's gone for now back to the sand. So probably those are pods. Thanks for the feedback!
