I’ve been trying to get a Vetex Puratek 100GPD RODI unit that I used to use for my old reef tank up and running again, but I am running into some issues. I cleaned it, changed out the filters, membrane, DI resin, and all the tubing because it has been sitting for the past 6 years, and then tried to start it. The water stops after the first chamber with the prefilter, and I am unsure what you would call the part in between the first and second chamber, a solenoid maybe? Whatever it is, I’m pretty sure that is the issue because if I just bypass it, I get water running through the whole system but it’s obviously not working correctly as the waste water and product water are coming out about the same rate of well over 100GPD. Any help identifying the name of this part and where to get another one is greatly appreciated!

Looks like you have a flush valve. Try to move that around and see if it makes any difference.

Did you change any check valves? Double check your orientation of those.

Thanks for the response! I already figured it out though...... it was the solenoid between the first and second stage. I had to actually take it apart and clean it because there were mineral deposits preventing it from opening, and now it is working perfectly!

That was a good thought about the valves.... I wasn’t planning on using the flush valve since the system has an automatic flush feature, but the original flow restrictor was cracked and I couldn’t find another one like it. I found that piece and it had the same 400mL restriction, and looked basically the same as the original but with a flush valve. I figured this would work and it seems to be doing the job well enough!
