[Help] Setting up Computer fans to wall socket

My grandmother doesn't like change... We have a dark roof, and no duct fans in the ceiling. We also have (new) old school whirly birds instead of passive cooling. I'm a caretaker for my grandmother while finishing college -- She is determined to die from heatstroke. 92* and she insists she's fine, won't use any methods of cooling.

Wow good luck man. I don't know where you are at but it's cheap and easy to make some homemade swamp coolers.

Just did this yesterday. Here is what I bought:

I made mine fancy but you can do it with wire nuts.
You cut the wire connecting the fan to computer power adaptor (1 blk 1 red). I extended the length of the wire and did the same with the second fan. I connected the two fans together in series AKA both reds and blacks together. I then cut the adaptors wire and connected the black with the fans black wires and the black/white with the fan red wire. The fans are 12DC and .33amps so i could technically do up to 3 at full speed. But I only did it with two since thats what I needed. They are quiet and push a lot of air. If you choose another fan keep in mind higher RPM=More air=Louder

Don't think you need to worry about variable speed. You want all the air flow you can get. Don't forget to agitate the water surface that you are blowing onto as that will significantly improve cooling and evaporation.
