usually they’re torn in half. but this one is whole and it really did fool me this morning. especially the way it was propped up.

That is a perfect molt ! Consider removing very gently & placing something like a length small pvc pipe anything small . Place it in the freezer .After it's frozen, start putting drops of super glue on all the joints & when it starts getting limp freeze again & repeat the joint glueing . There are a LOT of joints ! It would make a very cool mount. I did this with a blue lobster molt. LOL

A few years ago we were diving in Cozumel and the divemaster found a lobster molt and placed it between my wife's tank valve and her head. She swam around for half an hour with it there and didn't know it. When I first saw it I thought it was alive! I'll see if I can find the picture I took.

The first animal in my tank was a coral banded shrimp,my wife just had to have him! The first time he molted my wife was showing our daughter her shrimp that she named Harry. My daughter said he looks cool but does,nt move much! I came in a saw that they were looking at a molt and said he does,nt look good. Reached in and grab it with my tweezers and said yep he,s dead. My wife started crying,then my daughter started crying,heck I thought I was going to cry and I knew what it was LOL!! When I told her what had happened she got mad and gave me the, you just like to see me cry thing , would,nt talk to me the rest of the day. That shrimp is a pita but I dare not get rid of it!!
