So it seems like if anything ever happens to my fish it’s going to do so super late at night..
I am hoping someone with knowledge is up to help me.. I have had this tang for two years.. in the tank I have a powder blue tang this guy, cardinals, bonded snowflake clowns and cuc. I haven’t added anything in at least a year... everyone ate well this evening and I walked by my tank a few minutes ago and this guy was upside down sucked to my overflow.. breathing wasn’t super heavy. I moved him and he swam away but I noticed his color looks faded. I have looked everywhere For a diagnosis or what I can do to help him. Can’t find anything at all.. any ideas before it’s to late? Sorry lights went out and he is behind that rock so not very good pics

From skin pigmentation, looks like effect from bacteria issue and possibly nutrition related
What foods are you feeding it and what is tank temperature and salinity ?

Wow - that is really odd. How long was it between the time you last observed it as looking normal and this point? If it is less than 8 hours, I would be hard pressed to identify a disease process that works that fast - could the fish have gotten wedged under a rock and gotten scraped up? If the time of onset is 12 to 24 hours, then it could be an acute bacterial infection, or water issues (but then, the other fish would show symptoms). I doubt that it is nutritional - that wouldn't take weeks to months to show up, and again, the powder blue tang would also be affected.

And the other fish are fine.. he’s still hanging in there but against the overflow again.. my boyfriend fed them when we got home last night and he said they all ate. I was busy with my child. I went to add water to the back up and noticed him then.. it had to have been within 8 hours

Salinity is 1.025
Temp 79
I feed them pellets everyday with nori
And twice a week I feed froze.
You would think if the above were a problem that the other fish would be affected correct?

It’s getting worse.. I didn’t take pics but gosh this stinks..:(
