Help!! Skimmer and Filter mayhem[emoji849]

So I want to get a HOB protein skimmer and HOB filter for my 65g I’m getting but if I do that I can’t have a lid (obviously) but I want some sort of lid because I don’t want any jumpy fish to fly on out of there [emoji23]

So does anyone know any way to make a lid to fit around the filter and skimmer or videos of how to make a lid around it or Idk just to protect the top so nothing can get out [emoji51]

I would get a sump and I know they are meant to be good but I just want HOB filtration and skimmer because spending out on a sump is a lot more expensive because of buying the pipes, return pump, getting the holes drilled into the display tank then buying the sump tank and everything else for it, where I live everything is over priced. [emoji55][emoji23]

There are several companies making mesh tops out of polycarbonate. One company is https://safetoplids.com/gallery/.

Or if you want a DIY option, you can get 1/8 clear mesh from BRS or another company, then use a screen making kit to frame it in with an indent for your HOB and cords.
