Been adding phosphate-e and microbacter clean. Been dosing clean for awhile and Phos-e for about a week. Came home to my sump looking like this. Do I turn the skimmer off or just keep letting it skim? How do I keep the bubbles from overflowing out of my sump

This is what it looked like after I cleaned some of the bubbles .

Turn the water level in the skimmer down until the skimmate comes to about the middle of the neck. Skim dry, and empty the collector cup often. You're pulling out a lot of bacteria and detritus due to the Microbacter Clean.

lower water level in the skimmer and lower the oxygen injection

I got it turned all the way down. Still getting bubble over flow. I even turned the speed down on my pump.

Stupid question I’m new to using a skimmer. How do I lower the oxygen injection?
not a bad question at all, dw. Looking closer it appears that this skimmer doesnt have that option without modifying it. You can try and further lower the water level in the skimmer and the pump speed (if dc). If that doesnt help you can try adding an air valve but you just need to check the id of the air line tubing used.

something like this if you need it, but with dc usually just slowing the pump down and lowering the water level works (just open the drain more)

I’ve got the drain open all the way. I turned the pump speed down by one. I am still getting bubble over flow. I’m gonna give it another hour and if it’s still over flowing I’m gonna turn it down another speed.

that should help. keep dropping pump speed as needed. Have you stopped using the protein skimmer for at least 4 hours after the addition of microbacter clean as per the instructions?

I was having this same problem. I just put my skimmer on a little stand - up about 1.5 inches, and it is working right.....once it skims everything that is making it upset, I'll lower it back down.

Easy fix....

I remember when I first got my skimmer, I had to do this.
