It seems like I'm having to overcome one obstacle after another.
After setting up my sump I noticed that the water was a bit electrified. It turns out that the culprit was a pin hole in the wiring on the pump for my protein skimmer. ;Nailbiting

I am certainly on a poor mans budget and have no funds to replace it right now.
Is it possible to use this in its place?

Thanks guys, any input given is extremely well appreciated.

I see that this will not work due to the lack of venturi and impeller. I was hoping to get a bit of insight on a possible repair solution for the rio cord.

You could try and place silicone on it

Hey tonto95 thanks for the reply, I tried that before installing it. The break is at the base, right where it comes from the pump. I am assuming the silicone shifted and broke the seal.

I found and ordered a refurbished one online for a fare price so I guess i can finish up when that arrives.

Yeah definitely plan on doing that, it would be a shame to discard a pump with a perfectly good motor.

Thanks again for all your help brethren
