i been having some issues with my sps. Experiencing STNing on some tips of the sps and while I have some STNing on the base of the sps. Lost of color on the sps. Also, acans starting to die and lost a couple torches. Don't know what the heck is going on. This is the second time it's happening. First time lost over 3K. Then I moved so I tore down the tank and started over again with new sand and rocks. Thought everything was ok but it's happening again. Tanks been running for 5 months. Parameters are listed below.

I started using the aquaforest line...reef salt, amino, build, energy and vitality for 3 week now and haven't seen any changes (positive) but just sps dying.

I have a suspicion that it might stray voltage leaking into the tank. Can stray voltage cause all this???

Dosing Alk, cal and mag with fauna Marin balling salts. Runngin carbon and gfo reactor.

Alk 8
Cal 440
Mag 1400
Phosphate 0
Nitrate 2.5
Salinity 1.026
Temp 77

Thanks in advance!

Sorry Bro.
Yes stray voltage can cause this.
On the moment it can be anything.
We need a lot more info to chase down the problem.
Lights?
Flow?
You have to check equipment, all of the pumps if they not releasing some kind of corrosion into your water.
Pest?
Did you had swings lately on PH, Temp and ALK?
We need to see close up pictures as well.
Where is the tank located in the house?

Fix the voltage leek.
Which AF Salt are you using?
Are you shoot for a ULNS (ultra low nutrient system) your nutrients are pretty low? Your Sps's could be starving.

Phos 0????,could be the prob, thinned out weak, pale acros from 0 phos in my experience, bacteria also need it to denitrify, and thrive

What equipment are you using and how are you maintaining alk cal dosing pump or CalRx? Lighting that you are using. How long have the corals been in your care when the stn or rtn occurs?

I am thinking this has a lot to do with it depending on how you are approaching all these. I see in my mind instability

Was thinking the same as this tank is still a baby tank.
If you take off one month for cycling, 4 months aren't the best for SPS.
None the less you mentioned that LPS weren't happy either, in what period of the 4 months were that?

I agree, alot of products are better served to help after tank is stable, also can hurt during struggles

The lights I have are evergrow A8 nova. Light go on at 11am til 9pm. Have 2 rw 20 Jebao Wavemakers. No swings in parameters for alk, temp and ph. Tank is located in the den downstairs.

Dosing with bubbles magus dosing pump. Some of the older corals from my old tank before the move do fine some of the new stuff I add experience this problem. This issue started a month ago. Before that things were fine.

I agree but this same issue happened before the move when my tank was running for two years. It's just all of the sudden this started happening and wiped out a lot of my sps

I'm just using the AF reef salt. Not trying to run a ULNS.
Your nutrients are pretty low, try feeding more. I am at .02 phosphates, and 8 to 12 on the nitrates. Everything seems to be pretty Happy

I am running AF reef salt also

You know when AF shows off all these crazy tanks full of SPS? That's what their product is for. I have extreme reservations about using it on young tanks and certainly not at the dosage they recommend. I use their system as well but at 1/3 the potency and only 2 days a week.

Ok. I will scale back to half the recommended dosage two times a week and see what happens

Should I turn off the skimmer for a couple days?
Good idea, try that and watch you nutrients and see what happens. I know when I make correction it takes about 2 week to see result.

Sorry, don't mean to hijack, but how does the bleaching affect other coral?
