I had to move this guy about 5 days ago and yesterday I noticed he was losing tissue. alk and other parameters have been solid. the only time I have seen stuff like this is when I blasted a coral with flow, but that isnt the case with this guy.

thoughts? should I try and dip him? snip the receding part away?.

Not all freshly cut frags make it. It is too hard to tell what the issue is here based on the photo. I would leave it alone to minimize stress and hope for the best. Why did you move it to begin with?
Also, tell us more about your setup, parameters and how long it has been running.

Very possible got stung by something ... I'd just snip the good parts off, do a dip in Lugols, and cross your fingers ... make sure all of the dead skeleton is removed when you go snipping :)

That is RTN and I would definitely cut the good part away to try and save it. With RTN, and such a small coral, it will likely overrun the coral in a few days or less. Moving it probably caused the tissue loss.

thanks guys! I cut the infected pieces off and dipped in mild iodine.

I couldn't get all the infected parts off without splitting the frag so I put some superglue mixed with kannaplex on a few small spots.

we shall see how it goes.

update... tissue was still receeding above where I cut and glued.

chopped it above all the recession and reglued it.

I'm both hopeful and doubtful
