I bought myself a reef aquarium (65G+10g sump) about 6 months ago and was given a ricordea as a present (also my first coral which wasn’t intended) but have no idea about any care except the basic lighting and current

Low flow and light around 100 or less par. Is all I got. Otherwise just keep the basics in place as far as ALK, calcium, magnesium. As a mushroom it shouldn't be too picky on phosphate and nitrate.

In high flow they will detach and float around trying to find a dead spot to settle in.

THanks man think the lightings is my main worry as the water is pretty stable so far

They are very hardy when provided with good conditions although special care is not critical.
Moderate light and water flow and an occasional feeding will keep them happy. Clowns often dive into them as a pillow and they glow under the right lighting. Temperature under 80 deg and salinity range of 1.024-1.026
