Hey guys,

I have a 14 gallon biocube that has the stock lighting. It's had coral in the tank for three weeks now. My corals all have been closed up for a week now and my parameters are spot on. The only thing off is my temperature is 86. What would y'all recommend I should do? This is my first all in one systems. My other systems were bigger tanks but no longer have the big tanks due to a move.

Bring it down by either using fans blowing over the top and or using zip lock bags with ice. (Make sure the zip lock bags are sealed and don't leak!) Monitor the temp as you go. Also what thermometer are you using? Is it accurate?

The big question would be how did it get that high? Stuck heater? If so, replace it ASAP.

Turn off the lights until you get the temp down. Higher temps is less oxygen.....
What lights are in it?

Assuming stock compact fluorescent.. I had this problem as well. I'm in Texas, and would easily get Temps like this during warmer weather. If you don't have a stuck heater, you may want to look into converting it to leds.
Also make sure if you have have only one bulb powered it is the bulb that triggers the fans. Don't remember which switch it is off hand

I took the back lid off my 29 and put a muffin fan on eggcrate. It helps the ATO also.

Don't think any the biocube 14w have that back flap. Mine doesn't anyway, I so wish it did...

Tanks for the reply. I honestly don't know how it had given that high. I use a digital thermometer by coralife. I also don't even use a heater on the tank.

Oh ok gotcha! Ya I live in Texas too and the crazy weather doesn't help! I have been thinking of an LED that I could switch to. no clue what to get that won't look it over and doesn't break the bank

Rapid led has some some retrofit kits that won't break the bank and will keep the stock look. http://www.rapidled.com/search.php?search_query=Biocube+14 they all say out of stock.. Maybe shoot them an email if you are interested.
Steve's leds has some retrofit kits as well.

I had parts laying around so built a little cluster of 9- 3w royal blue and whites, and added in two truelumen pro strips.
