Ok first I'm new to forum and fairley new to saltwater. this is my first piece of coral its a sun coral. Got it home and then noticed the red end of rock. I thought it might be coraline algae but then my wife said it opend up and started squirting out white stuff then it would close back it did this a couple times then I had to leave for work

what kind of white stuff? spawning? maybe some sort of snail or clam? just a guess.

That looks like some sort of bivalve (scallop) covered with coralline.

If it is then should not be a problem.

Yep. Clam, muscle, spiny oyster, something to that effect. Not a bad hitch hiker.

Thanks guys. That's awesome proud of my first Lil piece of coral and I needed some coraline alage anyway scored all the way around I hope the rest of my corals I buy is this exciting :)
