i was under the assumption Frogspawn was pretty stingy and would be able to defend its self pretty well but i guess not...
it was perfectly healthy and i stopped paying attention for a couple months (i know, what the heck..) the toadstool grew up the rock and onto the frogspawn, actually attaching its self to the skeleton and now its completely attached and killing it.. i tried to just pull it off but ended up breaking the base of the frogspawn off its plug and now im afraid to be rough with it because it seems pretty fragile right now.. how do i get it off? should i just cut the toadstool off with scissors and hope the spawn gets strong enough to fight it off? or actually take it out and scrape all of it off with a razorblade and hope i dont hurt it too much? i dont care about the toadstool, i have too much of it anyway... and once i do separate them, what glue do i use to attach the spawn back to its base? havent done this before..

Instead of cutting the toadstool, you can cut the frogspawn's skeleton where the toadstool attached to or slowly scrape off the skeleton contact pieces coof these two by using a razor since the frogspawn's skeleton is extremely fragile so be careful.

If you don't care about the toad stool the fastest/easiest way is prob using a razor blade and just slowly and carefully cut the toad stool off.

Toadstool can get large. It will grow back from even the smallest piece.

+1 on cutting the toadstool. They're very resilient and you can probably make some nice little frags if you can't get it in 1 piece

I gave one of my tyree neon green to a LFS for credit. I still have another that is over 12" diameter at top. I will be doing same thing with the that one. I already see new ones popping up from the other one i cut.

I may have to do the same to a nepthea I got a month ago that won't stay anywhere. The base is healed and won't stick so I may have to recut it
