Looks like the torch skeleton is deteriating but the torch seems happy as ever.. my calcium is at 440, alk is at 9, no ammonia, no nitrite, nitrate is at 10(thats where its usually at for me)

Have any pictures?
Its where it was fragged from. The cavity looks like its getting deeper and deeper. I've had it for about 7months

has it been buried in the sand?
It could be a bacterial infection and you could consider either an iodine dip or simply sealing the cavity with superglue

Actually yeah it has been in the sand, ive kept it on the sand bed sense I've gotten it. Thanks for the tip!!!! I'm going to dip and glue it, do you think its possible for it to grow back?

Why would being in the sand cause a bacterial infection just out of curiosity?

not sure but anecdotally I have observed this. Maybe pH levels in the substrate are low enough to slowly dissolve the skeleton? totally speculating

If you glue up the exposed area it should be ok. As long as the heads are healthy.
