Not to be, cliche, but amen to that. The best thing I’ve heard so far is really this: is what you are doing working? Keep doing it. The “best” is subjective. Obviously there are higher quality products but what works for one reef may not work for the next. So asking about the “best” product or process or practice is really open to interpretation.

I think it would be more helpful if you give examples of questions that can be answered versus questions that can't.

In addition to physical gear, I think those of us who offer advice need to acknowledge that sometimes there is no definitive best way to do a number of things in this hobby, and it comes down to an individuals preference - based on any number of factors (budget, effort, patience, accessibility, etc). In the end it's the responsibility of the OP to make a decision and decide what direction they want to go.

Seems like lately there are many discussions here that devolve into an argument between a few individuals (that is often completely off topic from the OP). When someone presents a different viewpoint, we should avoid the overly defensive posture that's become so evident lately - where bruised egos push people into pages and pages of drama (why I just troll with gifs now lol )

Sometimes, just ignore the reply that is stupid or doesn't support your opinion, let your own success speak for itself, and let the individual make their own decisions for better or worse.

At the end of the day, this is just a fish forum and we all have much more important things in life to get irritated and stressed out about!
