Ive had a juvinile vlamingi tang for about 4 weeks and for the past week shes been hiding all day and wont eat anything. Today i woke up to her stuck on the flowpump still breathing. I put her in a strainer and tried to feed her. She cant swim and has a bloated stomach. I think she may die soon. What is this?!! All my other fish (2clowns, 2 sunrise dottyback, and cleaner shrimp) are acting completely normal. Btw it is a 20g long reef. And before anyone says its not big enough tank, i was going to wait until she grows then put in my 150g reef.

Bloated stomach is usually a sign of internal parasites, but if she's not swimming correctly then maybe a swim bladder issue. Was she gulping air from the surface at all?

sorry to hear, possible to post, pic,i have done worked couple times ,under water gently stroke from head to tail may release air basic gentle massage, best wishes

If she is eating, grind up some frozen peas and feed her. That will clean her out. Also with the ground peas, mix in some metroplex and seachem focus to treat from infection.

or diced ,mushed garlic w peas, keep us posted, following ,again fingers crossed here

sorry to say if shes stuck to the powerhead most fish that get stuck to the powerhead dont generally survive because they are already weaked for whatever reason i hope in this case you can save her

Sadly she didnt make it/: About an hour after i made this thread she past. I do know whatever this was, wasnt from my tank, since shes been like this ever since i bought her. I tried my best to save her, just wish i had known sooner. Thank you all for the help

A general sign of struggle and weakness and with recommendations to feed, was it even eating, and what was it eating/were you feeding?
How do other occupants look in the tank?
At this point I assume fish just being blown around and I would suggest an acclimation box where current is calmer but may be too late, sorry to say.
Absorption of liquid vitamins probably best hope right now
