Tank is 8 months old. If anyone can give me an idea of what this brown slim algae that plaques my tank it would be much appreciated.
If you have a reef, invert, and fish safe method of removal. Please let me know. I am about to go into my 2nd battle of bryopsis. So I am not going to be able to do a water change for 2 weeks. I would like to clear this up because it comes back in 2-3 days. Just imagine after 2 weeks not being touched. It also irritates this one zoa. You can see the browning around the polyps. Always on my inverts as well.
Thanks for the help.

I’m guessing cyano. If you’re post fluconazole for the bryopsis, it’s very likely.

I did just get done with a fluconazole treatment about a month ago.
I thought cyano was more of a cranberry color. This is more of a brownish reddish color.
Any idea how to get rid of it?

So many cyanos. Lol.

Basically the same stuff. Manual removal ,waterchanges , maybe some good bacteria additives.
After my fluco treatment , it took about 3 weeks and it faded.

Basically it’s just feeding on the dissolved algaes.

Just added Nite-Out ll last night to help beef up the good bacteria. Been 5g removing every 3-4 days. Looks like I am doing all I can for now.
Does lighting have any help to its growth? Was thinking about reducing an hour till I get this stuff cleaned up a little more. I use a turkey blaster and it does blow of the rocks and polyps easy, but then it ends up in the water column till the skimmer or Fluval C4 collects it. I have been cleaning my sponge every day or 2.
