Looking for some guidance from some sps gurus here...

I just changed out my 3 black boxes for 3 Radion Gen 4 Pros. I was running my black boxes at 100% blue and 30% white. I had close to 500 par at the top, 200 par halfway down, and 100 par on the sand bed. I had a lot of hot spots and areas where par just dropped off for no reason. With that being said, I never had trouble growing corals and when I bought my Radions I broke my own golden rule... if it's working don't change it.

I have 3 Radion Gen 4 Pros mounted 10" over a 180 gallon 6'x2'x2' aquarium. I am running the CoralLab AB+ schedule with a modified 1 hour longer, blue only, ramp up and ramp down. To set my initial intensity I used my Apogee MQ-500 par meter to match par as best I could throughout the tank. In order to accomplish this I had to increase the intensity to 50%. At 50% intensity the tank seems really bright and I am afraid I am blasting my sps with too much light.

I am wondering if others running Radions would mind sharing their tank size, number of Radions, mounting height, schedule (including duration), and intensity. I am especially interested in the intensity.

TIA

Have you checked out the coral labs ab+ and their recommendations? I use their settings and I'm getting great growth in the 4 months my tank has been up

Ahhhhh sorry maybe I should read the whole comment first. My advice is your coral is going to be the best at determining that. I have my radions set to ramp up as the day progresses and they max out at about 80% around midday and begin to ramp down to 40. So my intensity is pretty much always changing

That's a good idea...

Idk if you have an Apex but they have profiles that adhere to the sun schedule and mimics it pretty closely
