Hi all! I just did a very very stupid thing and hoping for the best. I sprayed my telescopic glass scraper with WD40 as it was rusting and would not extend and without thinking dipped it in my tank. The tank is 150 gallon and I immediately put some carbon in and a polyfilter and did a fast water change...IAm I OK?...or...?

I think it will be ok due to the very small amounts we'll have to track the tank and see. No precedence for wd40 i know of. these reefs are tough though, with the carbon/do a water change I feel strongly it will not crash. it will not kill your filter bacteria im sure, owing to the small amount used

Wd40 is made of fish oil...but whatever additives could make your skimmer nut up
While I admit I have never looked into it(just use the stuff as it works), I had allways assume it was a petroleum based product?

Been here and done the exact same thing. Tank will be fine. Skimmer may act up for a bit, but between it and carbon, your tank will be fine. I did it on a jbj 45 lol.

I did buy a plastic telescoping scraper though after that lol.

Thanks everybody! The tank seemed a little cloudy for a bit, the skimmer is working just as usual and fish look fine for the time being
