Help!! What is growing on my puffer?!

How do they look attached? Wiggling? Rigid?

Thats a porcupine pufferfish... Right? How long have you had it? Obviously you can see better then we can, but it kinda looks to me like his 'spikes' got stroked against the grain or something like that.

I've seen pictures of puffers with one or two of those, but never that many. No idea what they are though

Is it just the pictures, or am I not seeing a caudal fin on your puffer?

I agree with @Rover looks to me like his spikes got stroked into the grain, breaking them

Did someone use a net on him? That might have really aggravated his prickers and got them like that.

Wiggling, had it a few days. They’re not pointy they kind of branch off at the end

They look to be growing in symmetrically. Could just be an in between phase as he grows into something similar to this guy. Perfectly normal in all likely hood.

Yes, I do believe so. It looks common to longspined porcupine puffers. Have thy appeared recently?
