What is this weird ring on my LTA? My LFS says it’s a torn foot, but I see no damage at all. Would I be able to see that it’s torn? It just keeps getting smaller and LFS says it’s because foot is torn probably going to die

seems like detritus/mucus buildup from when it was last attached to rock or sand. normal and should fall off.

if the foot was torn it would be more obvious. try blowing it off with a turkey baster and monitor it for more changes. chances are, it is getting smaller due to change in environment and it is still adjusting to your tank.

what are your water parameters and age of tank?

From what I’m reading too new for an anemone. My mother in law bought the whole thing for my son and LFS was supposed to set up and maintain…not happening so I’m trying to learn.

So we got the tank on October 27, first Nemo fish on October 30, second Nemo on November 3, and a long tentacle anemone on December 4. It moved a lot but seemed fairly happy. On December 28 it got stuck in the small filter hole on the side of the tank. It went all the way through into chamber 2 and chamber 3. I was able to grab it out and put it back in the tank. It’s been ticked ever since.

Bring salinity up to 1.024 or 1.025 and invest as can be afforded in hanna or salifert brand test kits. From looks of anemone, tank appears to be doing good

I have salifert tests now, I’m slowly going to upgrade to Hanna. LFS said to only do phytoplankton once a week. Its mouth is gaping almost all day for the last week. I tried giving small pieces of uncooked shrimp but after a few hours it spits it back out. Any advice? I’m at a total loss

No uncooked shrimp.
Chopped krill, mysis shrimp or even brine shrimp will be readily accepted.
