Help! What is this and what should I do?

Using 6 stage BRS ro/di unit with Fritz Pro Reef salt...

using API master test kit ...first set of results look good (phosphate in next API kit, but just found unopened Salifert I will try also.

salinity 1.026 (should I add a bit of ro?)
ph 8.3
Nitrite oppm
Nitrate 5ppm
Ammonia 0

Reason I asked on test kits is assumption it was API which is notorious for false readings and have let down many reefers. I would suggest getting a second opinion, taking a good water sample to a trusted LFS that does not use API kits and see what readings they come up with and for comparison with your readings.
Nothing worse than trying to do the right measures to find that a faulty test kits is causing you trouble the entire time hence why a master kit is $21
As for 1.026, yes bring it down just a little as we in a season where evaporation occurs more frequently and 1.025 may reach 1.026, whereas 1.026 could climb to 1.027.

agree with vette, just go slowly with the rodi. I keep my reef at 1.025 just know a lot who stick to 1.026 so if you have an effective ato it isnt an issue

i can’t disagree with that, my Salifert PH test alone has a tag on box of 27.99 on it (never used, must of gotten thing under control with other tank back then).

and btw anemone looking much better. I order them from amazon or even ebay just to keep costs down a bit but is so worth the investment as they last a looong time if you get a good expiration date.

This morning looks back to normal. Still slowly adding RO till I’m spot on with Salinity and running light in acclimation mode.

So it continues to do this every other day... looks great, next minute shriveled up and expelling brown goo. i have been testing daily, no changes in parameters... why is it doing this? It detaches from rock and goes to sand sometimes. should I take advantage of that and return to LFS?
