Confused about this red thing attached into a string line....

Looks like a red gorgonian.

Thanks maxxin... I thought it was a kind of red algae or something, because they just attached on a nylon string and they are soft... I saw it in LFS and the helper their doesn't sure what is that thing and he's giving it to me for free...
