Help!!! What are these? Just brought this new green star polyp home and these just started coming out of the rock. What is it? Good or bad? What do I do?

Bristle worms, some people take them out others leave them. I leave mine, part of my cleanup crew.

there more type f worms who look simmilar who are not Coral friendly.. also the hairs suposably are bad for your health .

Bristle worms.. As. Long as water quality is kept up. With these guys add to your clean up crew and tank diversity. However they can multiply rapidly and take over tanks where water quality is low and food is abundant.

What entails low water quality, just for crystal clear (pardon the pun) clarification.

High nutrient values. Nitrates in the 20+ and elevated phosphates. Most. Test. Kits Will give you safe parameter ranges, aim to stay within those!

What is the best way to get rid of detritus build up on live rock and in sand?

No one thing.. A combination of good closed loop circulation in your tank to keep it. From settling.. Using a turkey baster to "blow. Off" your live rock.. A divers clean up crew including detrivores like nassarius snails and crabs

Closed loop circulation? How do I know if I have that

That just means water isn't leaving the tank.. Just good. Water. Movement within the tank, circulation pumps and good. Aquascaping go a long way at. Keeping detritus buildup. Low
