Hey all.

Got home today and noticed that 2 of my bulbs in my 7 bulb Aquatinic Constellation fixture were not working. The fan that is on the same on/off switch works when you turn it on but the bulbs will not fire up at all. All of the other bulbs are working and all of the bulbs were working last night when the lights powered down.

The only thing i can think of that could be wrong is the ballast. Opened it up and it is a Sylvania Quicktronic 49161. Is there any other ballast that would be comporable?

Is there any place locally i can get this ballast or another one that will work?

Check with Greybar or Grainger they may be able to get the same ballast for you. You could also check some of the lighting/electric stores

If your bulbs are 54W T5 bulbs, a Fulham workhorse 5 ballast can drive them, too. Your best bet might be Amazon.com.

Yeah. I moved those bulbs and they fired up. Even put a new bulb in the sot that was not working. I have never seen a ballast go bad and only 2 of the sockets not work. the seven bulbs share 2 ballasts. It it normal for only a few to go out?

As for the workhorse ballast. My sylvania has clips the wires seat into. The workhorse does not. That should not cause a problem. Or am i wrong?

I am not sure about the clips. Both Amazon and 1000bulbs.com sell the same Sylvania Quicktronic 49161 ballast that you are looking for.
