help where to cut my duncan

hi peeps i purchased a Duncanopsammia Axifuga recently and its loose/removed from the plug it was milliput/glue to, my question is as im gonna restick/milliput it back onto a plug disc i want to know how close to the head can i cut the branch off? as i see your duncan pictures with heads just above plug disc's so presume not alot branch needed in my case.

I would stay just below the flesh on the outside where you can see it... It's going to go down the sides farther than the coralites do insite of the polyp.

Also i've heard that when cutting these they skeleton can crack in a way that you don't want it to.

What are you planning on cutting this with?

thx coralnutz, well i thought id use a small fine tooth saw like say a hacksaw (for metal) and gently saw through tube. i know dremmals are all the rage for delicate work but i not have one as of yet.
 
DID you have 2 to start with or was one of those the bottom and one the top? I hear you can cut he head and glue it to a rock and another will regrow out of the stalk?

hi, no i had 2x heads on diff branches, they sitting in prop tank for a while until i set up new zoa tank, i like these duncans those two are my first and it will be hard to obtain diff coloured heads here in UK to the stuff i see on usa sites/ebay
