I had a diy ATS made for me and the problem I'm facing is the hose attaches to a barb fitting that's part of the valve. In order for me to remove the ATS for cleaning I have to remove the hose from the barb and it gets stuck and hard to pull off, especially trying to do so under the stand. What I'm looking for is some type of 1/2 inch barbed coupling with the ability to be disconnected that I can attach to the hose.

This is the valve, everything is glued together. I could make one with a disconnect but with the very limited space under the stand It would be easier to just add a coupling to the hose instead that's why I'm inquiring. I did a search but couldn't find anything, maybe somebody has come across what I'm looking for.

Yuk … those cheap home depot special valves are awful. You could just replace the assembly with a true union valve.

Yeah, it looks like that's the direction I might have to go. There's not much space around the ATS and the skimmer is right next to it which doesn't leave me much room to extend that assembly.

I know you have a different need but FWIW...I used those barbed fittings on 2 sides of a valve like you show to allow me to slow down my return flow and over time, I got calcium (I assume) buildup inside of the barbed fittings and reduced flow through them. Sure you can soak them or chip off the buildup but I eventually just got rid of the valve all together on my return when I bought a DC controllable pump.
