Hi everyone. Been a long time since I have been on here, and had a tank. I am getting back into the wonderful hobby, and looking at picking up a 180G tank, stand and canopy sunday afternoon. The tank is in Tullahoma. Right now, I have one person that is going with me, to help load and then unload in Antioch. My brother in law fell through for help and his truck. So, Im trying to find a truck, and some help. If anyone is available to help, that would be great.

Thanks
Scott

I will be working all day sunday and i don't have a truck either, hope you get the help you need though alot of nice people here!

I have a truck and I know Tullahoma pretty well. My back might not let me be as much help as I'd like to be, but I can certainly drive.

Thanks, that would definitely help. Will ur truck hold the tank, stand and canopy.

Tundra with 6.5' bed. We SHOULD be able to get everything in there. Might have to strap the canopy on top of the stand, but I have blankets and rachet straps to make sure nothing moves or gets damaged. The more hands the better so things can be placed right instead of lifted and slid around.

ETA: I also have a 6'x12' trailer at my family's place in Tullahoma, if that might make it easier on everyone.

I can't get down to help, but thought I'd chime in regarding the truck size. I moved a 180 and stand (no canopy) in a short bed Dodge Dakota. The tank sat fine, the stand wouldn't sit flat, but sort of wedged in next to the tank at an angle without any issues. Pad it plenty and it'll be just fine.

This is Josh's tank. Ill be there to help time permitting ( I have soccer games Sunday). The suction cups are with the tank.

Maybe around 2. What do you think is best. Im still trying to recruit more help, as the guy from work that is helping, isnt able to lift alot, so that doesnt help much, lol. The truck from mac will definately help and be awesome. I really appreciate the help Mac. How many people do you recommend for loading this up and unloading.

4 folks can lift and manuever the tank fairly easily. Loading it will be easy since it is just up and in tot he truck. since it still has the bulkheads in, it is laying on the front face of the tank. you would have to cut off the small bit of pipes and then get new bulkheads to lay it normally. two folks can carry the stand failry easily as well. canopy is super light. it should all fit in a tundra. bring straps. if you can have a pair of the flat furnature dollies at your house when you arrive, that will help greatly in moving hte stand and tank thru the house. then it is just lifting it in place. it is sitting on a pair now, but they really cannot go with it as they are from my work, so they would have to return to me, and I cannot help you with unloading.

Thanks, does anyone rent the dollys, as Im not sure how much they run. I do have those furniture mover pads, that helps slide furniture. I have a step in front of my house, so the pads may just work best. With the tank sitting on its front face, is that going to scratch the front or it at all, since its low iron. what about laying it on the back side, would that be possible in truck. Is all the plumbing with it, or just a few pieces. including the sand.

All plumbing is with it. Set it on a moving blanket. U-Haul rents them

Thanks, I may have to change the time to later in the afternoon, as I forgot about the Mach of Dimes walk on Sunday at 2pm.

Is there anything attached to the bulkheads? If not, then we could use 4x4's under the tank to keep it up off the bed of the trailer. That's how I moved my 90. I have one 4 wheel furniture dolly and at least half a dozen straps. (I've moved a lot lately.)

Morning better for me, as we have plans in the evening, but I'm pretty flexible.
